Why you don't need life insurance.
October 2, 2009

In my opinion, life insurance policies are a complete waste of money. Especially at an early age. If you are a healthy active person why do you need it? Do you plan on dieing anytime soon? I didn't think so. Did you even know that 50% of insurance companies will try to NOT fulfill their insurance agreement by investigating every aspect of any claim!

  1. Once you're dead you can't do anything about it.
  2. Insurance companies want you to sign contracts for the rest of your life.

Do you feel like having a monthly payment for the rest of your life? I sure don't. Put that money into a locked savings account instead of throwing it away.

“Although some aspects of the application process make it difficult, life insurance policies have been used in cases of exploitation and fraud.”

Life insurance is such an iffy topic that its hard to justify, especially if your life has no additional risk. Many insurance companies profit highly from their policies. Even if its $20 per month. Essentially every month you are alive you are paying $20. Its an unneeded expense and adds up and can even help you pay your bills. Don't spend more than you have to!

At what age should a person obtain life insurance?

There is no perfect time but I would recommend no earlier than at the age of 50 unless you have some kind of rare disease or live a high risk lifestyle. The average person that goes and come home from work everyday does not need life insurance.

Saving on insurance.

Don't be one of those lazy people who don't shop around. You'd be surprised at how much you can save just by getting multiple quotes. Spend 15 minutes for a week straight and you could easily save up to $800 per year on your car and home insurance. If you are going to rely on your business to support you, you'll need to cut unnecessary expenses! This means saving every single dollar possible.

Nowadays you don't even need to call an insurance broker, everything can be done online from the comfort of your own home. Your insurance savings can contribute to the jump start of your business! Use the money wisely.
