Don't be one
of the 9 that fails!
Running a
business (online or offline) is
not simple so don't get excited. If you are going to
quit your job, make sure you
have a proper business model and
insight of what you are doing.
Starting a business is not easy
or free,
even if its online. You can
expect to spend hundreds, if not
thousands on advertising alone!
Here are a
few tips to getting started:
-
Don't
focus on making money.
Or else you'll lose track of
your ACTUAL business.
-
Invest in
yourself.
Your business will not make
you any money if you don't
spend any.
-
Know your
role.
Make sure you know who to
contact to get your business
started (suppliers, etc)
-
Create a
web site!
People use the internet to
get information everyday!
Let them find you.
-
Don't cut
corners.
Don't expect to see results
if you are going to half-ass
your work.
-
Know your
competitors.
Get goals and keep an eye on
your competitors! Learn from
their mistakes!
-
Ask
around.
Get to know people in your
industry. The more you know,
the less chance of failure.
Observe me
create my business! I'm on a
huge budget but I also have a
business model that I'm
confident with. You'll learn
that you don't need much to
start, all you need to do is
have a drive to succeed and some
savings to live by. To get your
business started quickly, it
will cost you a lot of money. If
you don't have a lot to spend,
you can still gradually build
it, the only flaw is that it
will take longer than if you had
money to invest. In the end it
is lighter on the pocket.
Another
important thing is that you need
to invest in yourself, get your
message out and spend money on
learning and becoming
recognized. All wealthy business
owners interact and are well
known through their industry.
Publicity = money.
Now that
you're familiar with businesses
and startup; you need to realize
that if you are
going to work at home, its most
likely going to involve using a
computer and the internet so get
acquainted with the two. This
combination of equipment is
going to be your friend for
starting your business,
researching and connecting with
people. Stay
